Privacy Policy
How we collect, use, and protect your personal information.
Last updated: 2026-10-23
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how StackPeep handles information when you look up public company technology stacks, browse the site, use an account, or purchase a sponsor placement.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our service:
- Account Information — Your name, email address, and other details you provide when creating an account.
- Company Lookups — Public company domains and the technology information returned by a scan may be cached. Do not enter private URLs, credentials, or confidential information.
- Site Statistics — Our first-party statistics record page paths, visit duration, referring domains and country codes. Anonymous session records retain the landing path, referring hostname and allow-listed source/campaign labels; first-touch and current-session attribution are separate. Server-confirmed lookup attempts record started, completed or failed outcomes without storing the submitted domain in analytics. Test sessions are excluded from the aggregates. A daily visitor identifier is derived from a keyed hash of IP and browser information; raw IP addresses and browser headers are not stored in these statistics. The public stats page shows aggregates only.
- Cookies — A first-party session cookie lasts 30 minutes for visit statistics. Account sessions, language and theme preferences may use separate cookies or browser storage. The first-party visit tracker respects the browser's Do Not Track setting.
- Sponsorship and Payment Information — Sponsor submissions contain a contact email and public card details. Stripe processes checkout and payment details; we store booking and payment references, not full card numbers. Sponsor contact emails are not included in public cards or statistics.
How We Use Your Information
We use the data we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the service.
- Process transactions and send related confirmations.
- Send technical notices, security alerts, and support messages.
- Respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests.
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud and abuse.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:
- With service providers who help us operate the service, under confidentiality agreements.
- To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
- To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.
Your Rights
You can update available profile fields in account settings. To request access to, export of, or deletion of personal information, submit a support ticket. Sign-in is required for this support channel. These requests are handled through support; the settings page does not provide a self-service export or account deletion button.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, sending a notice through the service.
